A buyer may reject goods that are nonconforming, provided that they notify the seller of the rejection within a reasonable time and do not exercise ownership over the goods.
UCC § 2-602 allows a buyer to reject goods upon delivery if the goods do not meet the contract specifications. The buyer must inform the seller of the rejection within a reasonable timeframe and must not assume ownership of the goods.

Example 1
A buyer receives a shipment of shirts that were supposed to be blue, but they received green shirts instead. The buyer properly informs the seller and rejects the green shirts.
Example 2
A customer orders a specific brand of electronic equipment but receives a substitute that is of lower quality. The customer can reject the delivery based on the failure to conform to the contract.
